Roadtrain® by Hydroflux Epco Selected for Marmul Oilfield in Oman, Middle East

With over 20 references in the Middle East region for packaged sewage plants and for the supply of wastewater technology, Hydroflux Epco was selected to design and supply a 350 m3/d Roadtrain® sewage treatment system for the Marmul Oilfield in Oman.

The remote location and need for minimum operator supervision required specialist expertise in the design and commissioning of this treatment plant.

Having installed numerous similar treatment systems in remote parts of Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, Hydroflux Epco were ideally suited to the task, coupled in with an already existing Roadtrain® installation base in similar Middle Eastern locations.

The process consisted of preliminary screening and grit removal, aerobic treatment, secondary clarification and final disinfection. Most of the tanks were constructed locally in concrete and all mechanical equipment was packaged/skid mounted to facilitate site installation works. A plant SCADA system allows for full automatic control of the treatment process.

Hydroflux Epco offer both concrete and steel based sewage treatment systems.

The selection comes down to the site location and availability of materials. Some of the EPCO designs include bolted steel tanks, which are flat packed and sent to site in shipping containers.

Many of these decentralised applications have feed water strengths that differ from standard municipal sewage. Hydroflux Epco has built a library of knowledge on this from its 150+ installations of packaged sewage treatment systems.
